Rear main oil seal failed causing oil leak. Problem was immediately repaired at a cost of $650.00 by the dealer. Dealer also claimed the oil pan gasket needed to be replaced at an additional cost of $250.00 this repair was declined. Oil pan gasket does not leak.

Vehicle makes strange pinging/rattling noises while accelerating. Only found when engine is warm and vehicle is moving(in gear). Noise most prevailant just prior to reaching recommended shift point for 5 speed transmission. Honda factory troubleshooter calls this strange noise normal.
